Idea Generation Part 1
Mind Map:
I have been making mind maps for years upon years to generate ideas — it is a go-to for me. As a result, this process came very naturally to me. Here is my mind map:
My favorite ideas were underlined as I went along. Some of those ideas are:
- First period FAK
- “Play Doctor” real FAK for children
- Anti-anxiety FAK
- Playground FAK
- Morning Jog / Exercise FAK
Exaptation:
I started the exaptation process by brainstorming some of things that were unique to me:
Which resulted in the following list:
TILMAG:
TILMAG is one of my all time favorite idea generation methods. Finding connections between disparate things is something I would consider a personal strength, and this format really depends on it. Here is the table I made using TILMAG:
SCAMPER:
I found SCAMPER, overall, to be one of the more tedious and least helpful methods. Despite that, it wasn’t useless — here are my notebook pages on SCAMPER.
TRIZ:
TRIZ in inherently fascination: one matrix, to solve nearly every problem in product design? An incredible concept. I started using TRIZ online, playing around with different contradictions to solve.
The following is a list of ideas I generated after reading up on all of the solving principles given to me based on the contradictions I selected and simply reading the list of solutions:
10 Ideas:
Focus Group Plan:
I will be hosting a focus group with food from 1:30–2:30pm on Halloween. So far Axel, Becan, Susan, and Tate have agreed to come, but there may be some change in personnel.
